Prerequisite Exemptions

If you are interested in being exempted from a Math or Composition prerequisite, you must present a grade report or transcript for previously earned college credits that is relevant to the course that you want to enter.

If you are interested in starting in a Math or Composition course with a placement prerequisite, you need to present a copy of an ACT score of 20 or higher to gain an exemption.

In other subject areas or disciplines, the instructor would be the person you would need to talk with about providing an exemption for a prerequisite, as the instructors are the content specialists of their courses and would know after talking with you if you are equipped to enter into an advanced subject area.
